"FOUR BARS AND SEVEN BEERS AGO..."
8pm, Tuesday, February 12th

Capitol Hill Bar Crawl Beginning at The Hideout

So you had a blast at Santarchy, loved the Zombie March, and can't wait for Bunnarchy and Brides of March? Well, we've got something for you!

It's become an underground tradition for some well known Seattle artists to celebrate the birthday of Abraham Lincoln by growing beards, dressing in top hats and suits, and spending February 12th roaming the city having drinks and turning heads.

This year, ol' Abe is turning 199 years old, and in honor of that momentous occasion, we've all been invited to join the fun!

Here's the official invite from the 'Abes' themselves:

I'm turning 199 years old this year! Holy shit!

I freed the slaves, I was Americas tallest president and was born on the same day as Chuck Darwin! (Never met him.) They used to call me The Railspliter, Uncle Abe, Honest Abe, The Illinois Baboon, The Sage of Springfield and some other shit. My Wife's name is Mary Todd and she cooks a mean potato pancake! I had a son Willie who died in 1862. I'm on a mountain, a penny, the five spot and there's a nice statue of me in the nation's capitol.

"The best thing about the future is that it comes only one day at a time." "Whatever you are, be a good one." "It has been my experience that folks who have no vices have very few virtues..."

Please Join us on February 12th for a rip roaring night to celebrate my birthday!

Grab a top hat, grow your beard (or if you absolutely must buy a fake one or paint one on), a tuxedo, and join us for a night of drinking, celebrating, and good old fashioned fillabustering!

Our hosts for Abe's Birthday Bash have a serious bar crawl in store for us. Things are getting started at the Hideout at 8pm, then slowly moving along to the following---The War Room, Linda's Tavern, Cha Cha Lounge, King Cobra, The Comet, Moe Bar, Havana and possibly some others around there. WORLD LEADER PRETEND
9pm, Saturday, February 16th

Sunset Bowl in Ballard

"But Tuesday's a school night", you protest. Well, for those of you who can't muster the energy to party on a Tuesday in honor of the man who freed the slaves, we've got some weekend fun for you, too.

The Saturday following Lincoln's big birthday bash (February 16th), we'll be painting the town red, white and blue again for GMP's 'WORLD LEADER PRETEND!'

The history of the world has been full of crazy queens, powerful presidents, and charismatic cult leaders. There have been good, bad, and downright awful men and women who have held positions of power, probably for as long as humans have been walking the earth. Now's your chance to masquerade as one of them for a night!

Politicians and Monarchs will surely be present, so you can hob nob with Hamilton, visit with Victoria, converse with Khrushchev, or pick up on Prince Harry. This may be your chance to buy Boris III a beer, make eyes at Mussolini, or cuddle with Kim Jong-il.

And world leaders come in other varieties... like religious leaders. You could parade as a Pope, dress up as the Dalai Lama, or make believe you're Charles Manson.

And of course, coming as Honest Abe is an appropriate option.

Whether you're a Hillary or Huckabee man, a Barack or Mitt supporter, or still hoping Cheney will throw his hat in the race, come on out for some fun with a wealth of world leaders.

Heck, maybe by getting all these powerful people in one room we can finally figure out that whole 'World Peace' thing.

For this special night of Presidents and Princesses, Cult Leaders and Kings, we're going somewhere that can meet the demanding needs of such a diverse and high class clientele: Sunset Bowl in Ballard.

Scheduled to be razed later this year, Sunset Bowl has Bowling (of course), but also a full bar with Karaoke! They serve those great Bowling Pin Beers, and best of all, it's ALL AGES! So if you're under 21 and have always wanted to come to a GMP, or if you have a kid that wants to dress up and do a little bowling, this is your chance!

Rumor has it the GMP PDX Crew are coming up from Portland, so come on out and make them feel welcome (and show them how we do it up here in Seattle!)

Sunset Bowl has been host to Santarchy in year's past, so we don't suspect any trouble - but just in case, we'll call The Old Peculiar our Exit Strategy, should we need a alternate (or second) location.

Sunset Bowl, 1420 NW Market Street
The Old Peculiar, 1722 NW Market Street
Click here for a map to both these locations!

Until then, contact your speech writers, get your suit pressed, and practice kissing babies, cuz you're gonna make a great WORLD LEADER PRETEND!
